“We get so many comments about how entertaining our on hold marketing productions are. Sitting on hold stinks. Might as well keep the customers we love so much entertained!”

Those are the words of Tom Stannard, President and General Manager of Wellington Implement, a three-location company that sells farm and construction equipment.

Tom gets it; he understands the value of our Humor On Hold.

No company wants to put callers on hold, but if it’s unavoidable, why not actively choose to surprise and delight callers with funny, memorable, unexpected content?

A Unique Concept

Located among the farm fields of northeast Ohio, Wellington is home to about 5,000 people. And ever since we started working with Tom in 2019, we’ve made a fictionalized version of those townspeople part of his company’s On Hold Marketing.

Inspired by TV programs like Green Acres and The Andy Griffith Show, we tell stories about the odd characters who live in Wellington and drop by the shop now and then. Of course, we also work in plenty of references to the tractors, combines, mowers and other equipment that Tom and his crew sell and service.

Great Feedback

And a Wellington Implement employee sent this email message to Tom about a caller who enjoys being on hold: “This customer loves the on hold messages. When I put him on hold yesterday, he was actually bummed when I came back to the call. LOL.”
